A wide, semi-circular band in petrol blue runs from bottom right to top left. This is intersected by a horizontal ochre-yellow band, over which a rider on horseback rushes from right to left. The space above it is dark grey, tapering to pastel salmon pink.
At the bottom of the semi-circular band are Japanese-painted mountains in shades of green and blue. The bottom left corner is filled by a large dark yellow fossil of a snail shell, and by botanical gelliprints in yellow and black. In the bottom right corner, an Etruscan boy gazes longingly at the mountains. In the top right corner, a strange creature, consisting of a fossil of a shell with two large eyes, looks on.
