About the artwork

The tulip and the Netherlands. Perhaps the tulip is one of the world's best-known flowers but what is certain is that it is an important export product for us.
The flower's appeal, versatility and rich history. The appeal of this flower is that it looks beautiful in your garden, planter, but certainly also in the vase on the table. It is a rewarding gift in all situations. These cheerful, orange and yellow coloured tulips, are showing off in my garden.I managed to photograph these against a blue blurred background ( window). The flowers come right in to you as if they want to let you know for a moment that they are there. I can really enjoy these flowers, especially when the sun shines on them.
A piece of history: tulip fever broke out at the beginning of the seventeenth century. Tulip bulbs became extremely valuable in a short time. They were sold on paper for huge sums of money, while the bulb was often still in the ground. At the time, a single tulip bulb was worth as much as an entire canal house in Amsterdam. Symbolism: The tulip represents spring. After the dark and cold winter months, the flower brings much-desired cheer to the streets and gardens. They start flowering from March onwards. If you say tulip, you say spring
