Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.
Still nothing? Open this page in Chrome or Safari. AR does not work in the browser of apps such as Instagram or Facebook.

About ‘withering banana leaves’ by Hans Lok

Nothing lives forever. Everything that blooms and bears fruit will sooner or later wither and die. The colours of the flowers, the freshness of the fruit, the bright green of the leaves will disappear and give way to shades of grey and brown. The sharp forms that stand up vigorously lose their strength and slowly bend until they become part of the earth again. Dust thou art and to dust thou shalt return. They don't have a very long life like an oak, but once the bunches are harvested, the bright green banana tree with its big broad leaves soon ends. But in its place still comes something that has its own beauty. an abstract work of art in greys and browns in shapes that by hanging indicate a slow movement downwards. The leaves spin around themselves until they die and fall.

Meet the artist

Hans Lok

My great loves are the water and everything about it. Ships, travel, history and photography. The combination is therefore very common in my photographic work. Most photographs are created intuitively. It is an image that strikes me, usually a combination of form and color in which a part of reality is framed into an image. The result is a fitting form.
