The common kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) is a bird of prey from the falcon family (Falconidae). An adult specimen measures 30 to 38 centimeters. [3] The male has a gray-blue head and neck, a reddish brown back, and wings with dark spots. The tail is bluish gray and has a black end band.
