Historische militaire vliegtuigen en wrecks & relics. Diverse nostalgisch, legendarisch en voormalig militair vliegtuigen die na uit dienst te zijn genomen worden warbirds genoemd. Deze vliegtuigen zijn in het bezit gekomen van particuliere organisaties, individuen of in sommige gevallen een aparte afdeling binnen een luchtmacht zoals bijvoorbeeld de Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Veel warbirds zijn door de jaren heen grondig gerestaureerd en/of uitstekend onderhouden. Veel van deze vliegtuigen zijn bijvoorbeeld te bewonderen in musea en/of al dan niet vliegend tijdens airshows. Een grote en bekende warbird airshow is bijvoorbeeld de Flying Legends Airshow in Engeland. Daarnaast zijn er de zogenaamde Wrecks & relics. Dit zijn niet-operationele vliegtuigen en helikopters die overal ter wereld te vinden zijn zoals in musea, als poortwachters bij militaire vliegvelden of als monumenten.
