LONG EXPOSURE on canvas, poster, wallpaper and ArtFrame by Silva Wischeropp

Long exposure photography refers to a technique where the camera's shutter is deliberately kept open longer than usual. This allows the sensor to capture light and movement over an extended period, resulting in creative, often artistic, images. Key facts about long exposure: Time frame: Exposure times typically range from 1/30 of a second to several seconds, minutes, or even hours. Applications: Long exposure is used to blur movement (water, clouds, traffic), to create a sense of emptiness in busy places, or to produce light trails. Essential equipment: Because the camera must be held steady, a tripod is essential to prevent camera shake. A remote shutter release is also helpful. Daytime technique: To enable long exposures in bright daylight without overexposure, neutral density (ND) filters are used to reduce the amount of light entering the camera. Settings: Low ISO values (e.g., ISO 100) are used to minimize image noise. The technology makes it possible to depict the world differently than the human eye perceives it, for example by making moving water appear milky and soft.
