The motorsports art of Dutch artist Toon Nagtegaal on canvas, poster, wallpaper and ArtFrame by Adam's World

Toon Nagtegaal was born in 1977 and lives and works in Tiel (Gelderland), in the middle of Holland. He has a passion for painting and motorsports. The two are united in his work. Education As a child he drew piles of papers full of knights and castles. At a young age he received drawing lessons from a visual artist. That was very fun and educational. During the lessons at primary and secondary school he has chalked a lot of notebooks full of drawings and comics. It was actually self-evident that the next step would be the art academy. In 1999 he completed his education at the Amsterdam School of the Arts. At the time, Formula 1 was already the main subject of his paintings. In 1999 he won the Shell public award with a painting of Eddie Irvine in his Ferrari. At the art academy, however, all pleasure in drawing and painting has disappeared and he has not touched a pencil for about 15 years. For a number of years he has been painting intensively and with more pleasure than ever. “In the early 90s I saw a Formula 1 race on TV somewhere from the corner of my eye. I saw Formula 1 cars crashing through a tunnel with monstrous speeds and noise (Monaco). From that moment I was sold. I watched all free practice sessions, qualifications, warm-ups and races at Eurosport and usually also a number of repetitions. I found it incomprehensible how fast the drivers dared and could drive. And then wheel to wheel through the curves too. Moreover, the cars were beautiful to see.
