As I mentioned on my previous blog: promoting your work via social media is a great way to grow the following of your Art Heroes shop page. Now, how exactly do you do that? I’ve noticed that many artists find it difficult to position themselves on social media. Along with putting their work in the spotlight in a way that doesn't come across as too 'pretentious or pushy'. Today, I will give you three tips to improve your strategy. This is how to create or improve your personal social media strategy.
Get the basics right. On a social media platform (like Instagram), you only have a few seconds to impress a potential follower or customer. So make sure it is quickly clear who you are, what you do and why. On Instagram, you can do this using your bio, your profile picture, the style of your feed as well as highlights. Platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest also accommodate this kind of info.
Your profile on a social media channel is a kind of mini-site. It is your business card. So, when that's done right, your ideal customer has no choice but to follow you when they land on your profile.
Valuable content is key. An example of such, is sharing content that allows your followers to get to know you better, as you build up some sympathy. People prefer to buy from you rather than someone they know less well. People really prefer to buy from people, and if you are willing and daring to share your personality and a piece of your life: you will create a huge advantage for yourself, compared to more secretive creators.
In addition, it would be nice to also share content that teaches people something, or inspires them. Around your Art Heroes images and products, you could think of tips for choosing a location for an art piece, or guiding people in choosing a work of art. You can also share information and inspiration around the theme in which you create artworks (travel, cities, nature, etc.).
Moreover, be consistent here too. Pick a rhythm of posts that you can maintain for a long time.
You don't just walk into a party and shout, “I have this great product that you must buy!” Or at least, I don't think so, as I am an introvert. I don't usually go to parties anyway and certainly don't shout things when I’m there because it seems a bit rude ;-).
So, why do we do this on Instagram? Why do we assume that everyone will listen when you sell without any valuable information beforehand? Right, that's not the right way to do it. When people respond, engage in the conversation! Respond to all comments, be interested in your followers. Reply to your DM’s. Use social media, how it is meant to be used, to engage in conversation. Both your followers, and the algorithm, take credit for this.
Time for action! Using these 3 tips, create or improve your personal social media strategy, and eventually, you will really be able to sell your work because of a platform like Instagram.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?
We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.
Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.
A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.
Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.
Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
