In Christine's artworks, nature is a common thread and her greatest inspiration. Over 10 years ago, she first discovered the richness of detail in 1 fallen tulip leaf. She then noticed what most people pass by. What many see as a dead leaf is actually a work of art in itself, if you look closely. This led her to start looking with a sharper eye at everything around her and flower petals in particular. She started collecting these and began experimenting with photographing them, finding her own unique way of capturing the beautiful details in the leaves. She experiments with photographing many different types of flowers and leaves. In her own authentic way, she manages to capture the most beautiful details. What fascinates her is that each leaf has its own kind of 'fingerprint' in terms of lines and details. Especially when printed large, these become very visible and sometimes form almost abstract works of art. This collection is therefore called 'the fingerprint of leaves'.
