My name is Emma Versluys. As a visual artist and illustrator, I explore the layering of human identity and connection. What drives me is a deep-seated curiosity about how we understand ourselves and each other - how the inner and outer are in constant dialogue with each other.
My work starts from intuition and observation, developing into images that balance between the recognisable and the alienating. By combining different techniques, I look for ways to give form to that which often remains invisible or unspoken.
My vision is to make art that invites one to slow down, to look beyond the surface. Through my work, I aim to initiate new conversations between art and viewer, conversations that lead to a richer and more layered understanding of ourselves and the world we live in.
