About ‘Apples in plastic’ by Emma Versluys

This artwork features bright red apples, carefully collected in a simple, transparent plastic bag. The bag shows fine wrinkles and subtle light reflections, which, together with the intense green background, make the red of the apples stand out. Small details, such as a spot on an apple, stems and soft folds in the plastic, give the work a lively character. The dynamic oil pastel strokes create a painterly texture full of movement and energy.

The inspiration for this work came from an everyday moment: the unexpected beauty of apples in a plastic bag, caught in the play of light and colour. This scene, often overlooked, became a metaphor for the hidden beauty in the ordinary. Classic still lifes, in which simple objects carry deep symbolism, were also an important source of inspiration.

The combination of the rich red and deep green arouses vitality and optimism, while the simplicity of the image exudes a serene calm. It invites the viewer to reflect on the value of the everyday.
With its bright colours and powerful contrast, this work is a striking addition to both minimalist and eclectic interiors, appealing to lovers of natural beauty and timeless themes.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
