Originally a freelance stone artist, Helmut Martin gradually developed a penchant for revealing, through photographs of his work, what is hidden from the naked eye.
The graphic works presented here, alongside the atmospheric nature and landscape photographs, are based on real (macro) photographs of genuine crystals, minerals and stones in his possession, as well as on special rocks and rock formations found in nature.
Helmut Martin’s digital graphic works are visual bridges between visible reality and the hidden, subtle dimensions of our existence. Through an intuitive, entirely manual creative process, Helmut Martin deconstructs the photographed objects or structures and intuitively recomposes them into complex, symmetrical spatial structures.
This artisanal alchemy opens up the images: organic fractals and visual portals emerge, which act like gateways to other dimensions and unleash a meditative, transformative, transcendent power. His works – when displayed appropriately – enchant the viewer and serve as energetic focal points that enhance the atmosphere of a space.
