Jopie Bopp
About Jopie Bopp
Jopie creates paintings that breathe between worlds. At the heart of his work are angels – not as religious symbols, but as messengers of the invisible, as a reminder that behind the visible world lies a second, quieter reality.
With gentle colour gradients, light-filled surfaces and meticulous attention to detail, Jopie Bopp invites the viewer to pause and reflect. Each painting is a moment of stillness, a space for contemplation – between earthiness and transcendence, between doubt and solace.
Alongside his spiritual paintings, Jopie Bopp also devotes himself to abstract painting, watercolour and portraiture – always with the same sensitivity to light, atmosphere and the essence beneath the surface.
Born in Heidelberg and with his roots in the Odenwald, Jopie lives and works in Heiligkreuzsteinach – in his small ‘tiny’ forest studio, deep in the woods, far from the hustle and bustle. It is there, surrounded by tranquillity and nature, that his paintings take shape: with intense focus, in close communion with the silence of the forest.
