My paintings can be found in company headquarters, boardrooms, offices, private residences in Germany and abroad as well as in important private collections (e.g. E.H.Streletzki Collection, Berlin).
The author and poet Heinrich Waegner writes the following about my paintings:
"Colour touches the soul directly, so that a romantic relationship is formed between the self and the world, which establishes an initially non-conceptual dialogue with itself, quasi religiously and like a prayer.
One could compare this process with the description of the Romantic poet Wordsworth, who describes this process in poetry simply as "recollection in tranquillity", i.e. as a complete surrender to a supra-reality that transports the artist into a freedom of the unprecedented, in which he creatively explores and expands his world.
When Markus Schon feels his way into landscapes, he rarely pursues the possibilities of realistic beauty in a spartan manner, but rather elevates them with the force of the breathtaking splendour of the expressionist colour of life, red, on the one hand, or with the blurriness of the grey-blue mixture of land, water and air, on the other .... more see homepage!
