About Angeline van de Kerkhof

Light...

Light determines (almost) everything in a photograph, without light there is no photography. The literal meaning of photography is writing with light. The most beautiful subjects will not look its best in the wrong light; conversely, the most ordinary or boring subjects will completely blossom in beautiful light. This is precisely where the challenge lies for me: to capture subjects and the right light in my camera and then release them in the form of a beautiful print. A print that might end up on your wall!

I find subjects for my photographs in all kinds of places, both indoors and outdoors. I pay attention to shapes, colors and structures. In my mind I make a first draft for a composition and think about the light and atmosphere I want to create: the creative process begins. Fortunately, my subjects are very patient models and do not mind being endlessly shifted, flipped or turned upside down until I am satisfied. My creative journey begins with loose subjects and ideas, the journey ends in a shot where subjects and light come together and enhance each other.

My photographs are only minimally edited in terms of color and contrast, manipulation in a photo editing program is out of the question for me. In short: what I see through my lens is what the camera captures and what will end up on your wall. I take great pleasure in making my photographs, I hope you will enjoy hanging the photograph of your choice on the wall with the same pleasure.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
