About the artwork

The digital artwork "Venus de Bronzino" is an intriguing composition merging classical forms and modern aesthetics. In this work, we see three stylised figures executed in a bright red silhouette against a deep blue background. The central figure is a nude woman, seated and sensually portrayed, who is lovingly embraced and kissed by a second figure, presumably male. To the left is a third person - a child figure, possibly a Cupid or a playful cherub - observing the scene or preparing an action.
The style is reminiscent of classical Greek or Roman sculptures, with their idealisation of the human body, but the execution in high-contrast, flat colours lends a contemporary, almost pop-art-like quality to the whole. The name "Bronzino" probably refers to Italian Renaissance painter Agnolo Bronzino, known for his refined portraits and sensual allegorical works. This reference establishes a bridge between Renaissance art and digital expression.
The work plays with themes of love, physicality, and the tension between public and private. The use of a minimalist palette and lack of detail emphasises the posture and interaction of the bodies, enhancing expressiveness. At the same time, the work raises questions about the role of sexuality in art and how historical motifs are reinterpreted today.
"Venus de Bronzino" is thus a powerful example of how digital art can transform ancient symbolism into a contemporary visual statement.
