The skyline of Amsterdam North, with its prominent Overhoeks neighbourhood, is a modern and dynamic addition to Amsterdam's historic cityscape. This area, located on the northern bank of the river IJ, has developed in recent years into a centre of innovation and architecture, while offering impressive views of the city.
The most striking building in this skyline is the A'DAM Tower, a modern icon known for its rotating observation deck and Over The Edge swing, the tallest in Europe. Next to the tower is the futuristic-looking EYE Film Museum, with its white, geometric design that contrasts elegantly with the waters of the IJ. Together, these buildings form the heart of Overhoeks, a district that symbolises the transformation of Amsterdam North.
From the southern bank, North's skyline offers a mix of contemporary architecture and urban energy. In the evening, the lights of the buildings reflect in the IJ, creating an almost magical atmosphere. Overhoeks is not only an architectural highlight, but also a lively area with creative hubs, restaurants and cultural events, making it a popular destination for Amsterdam residents and visitors alike.
