It is early, early morning at Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, USA. And though this place is generally crowded -- and will be so by later morning and early afternoon -- it is quiet and still now.
Everyone is pretty much still asleep. The only ones who are out are a few determined hikers who are getting an early start (they want to make it down to the bottom, and back up, before day's end) and . . . you.
The artwork, A Grand Morning View, invites you to zip up your jacket -- because the dawn air is cool -- and walk along the rim of the canyon. Down at the bottom, where the Colorado River flows, the shadows still reign, but you can just barely make out the snaking shape of the water.
Across the tops of the cliffs, the sunlight is just barely touching, adding a warm glow that will soon grow, filling the landscape with light.
Do you feel the calmness, and the peace?
