A blend of geometry, abstract patterns and primary colours by Lisette Rijkers

There is a great deal to see in this geometric and abstract painting.
It is a mix of different shapes, patterns, colours and textures.
The straight lines in this painting come together to form a geometric pattern. The lines form rectangles and triangles that lie side by side but also overlap. In some places, these different rectangles and triangles are delineated by lines in a bright red colour.
The various shapes in this painting also feature diverse patterns and textures. In some places, the texture resembles water with foam on the canvas, whilst in others it looks as though small pebbles have been incorporated into the artwork – pebbles that might together form a gravel path.
Finally, the bright red lines are complemented by the remaining two primary colours, blue and yellow. The yellow and blue can be seen in various circles painted over the rectangles and triangles.
This unique artwork is hand-painted. It is a piece of art with a great deal to take in. It is intriguing and stimulates the imagination. You find yourself wondering what exactly you are looking at. It invites you to take a closer look and discover all there is to see.
