A large group of African Elephants (Loxodonta africana) approached the river in Botswana to lessen their thirst. The whole group walked from the sandy hills towards the water in a very slow but determined way. As usual the elephant mothers and all adults protected their/the youngsters while enjoying their bath. While taking the refreshing bath some hippos tried to keep their grounds in front of the elephants. A great scene watched and photographed from the Chobe river.
