An evening in August. The little butterfly had picked a nice spot among the grasses. The low evening light through the foliage created beautiful balls of light in the background.
Other nature photographers will tell you that it is best to photograph butterflies as early as possible, and there is some truth in that because they are not yet warmed up. In the evening, when it has cooled down a bit, they stay in place pretty well, and this very field has beautiful light at that time of day. So here I 'just' photograph around sunset.
