The painting was inspired by the song
''La Memoria''
sung by Víctor Heredia, Mercedes Sosa y León Gieco. A powerful song and tribute of human rights violations during the military dictatorship in Argentina ( 1976-1983)
The music and emotional depth inspired me to create a five-part song. Mercedes Sosa's music is influential and palpable in contemporary music and her songs are still relevant that relate to human rights and social justice.
Her music remains an inspiration and her message of hope and resilience lives on.
The title of the painting means 'to those who silenced her'
Also in my paintings where you see a mix of gold, red, pink, and orange tones in surreal and detailed shapes evokes a story. Themes's such as memory, justice, resistance not to repeat history, keeping courage and not losing hope inspire me to create this five-part work.
The viewer gets to fill in the story himself.
The painting is 90 x 130cm and is painted with acrylic paint on canvas.
