About the artwork
A panoramic view of the activity in the port of Amsterdam. The seagoing ships unloading the cargo the crane scoops the cargo into an elevator. The inland vessel takes over her cargo. The next barge is already waiting on her spot to load.
In the background the shipyard in Amsterdam Noord with ships in her docks for repairs. It is always a bustle with all the ships in the harbor. This ballet of ships and the giant cranes and grabs always provide a beautiful image in the landscape of the harbor.
Raw and the harbor as it is the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is a different world. The landscape of the harbor is always changing. The ships, the people and the landscape continue to fascinate me.
