A ray of light in the silence by Marlot Grouve

This work captures a moment that almost feels as though it exists outside of time. At its centre, a bright light source radiates, stretching vertically like a soft line of light, as if a door were ajar to another world. Surrounding this core, round, blurred shapes float in shades of purple, lilac and soft grey. They appear to be moving, yet remain suspended in a kind of serene stillness. Those who look longer will discover small nuances: an almost transparent circle, a subtle glow that runs just along the line of light, and the way the colours touch without blending. The whole piece feels like a breath — calm, deep, soothing.

The inspiration for this work arose from the idea of inner clarity. Sometimes there is a single point of light that puts everything into perspective, even when the rest is still shrouded in mist. I wanted to capture that feeling: the balance between mystery and clarity, between softness and strength. The layers are built up intuitively, guided by colour and light, until the image acquired precisely that quiet tension I was seeking.

With a maximum size of 55 × 80 cm, the vertical line of light is beautifully showcased. The work brings tranquillity, depth and a touch of magic to any interior — perfect for spaces where atmosphere and softness can come together.
