A unique combination of leaf and tree by Lisette Rijkers

A stunning natural work of art, rendered in warm tones. Warm shades of brown and orange blend with natural greens, both dark and light. A soothing image, created from a unique combination.
The basis of this natural work of art is a photograph of a tree’s bark. A beautiful, rough bark with a lovely pattern.
Trees are a joy to behold. In every season, one can delight in the colours, shapes, textures and patterns to be discovered in a tree. Not just in the tree as a whole, but also in the leaves and the trunk. And what is certainly just as beautiful about a tree’s trunk is its bark. Every species of tree has a different kind of bark. I love to examine the bark up close. It’s always a journey of discovery into textures, colours, patterns and shapes, but also into the mosses growing on the tree and the tiny creatures that can be found there. That’s why I particularly enjoy photographing tree trunks up close, and it’s often a source of inspiration for me.
And of course, a tree isn’t complete without its leaves.
The leaves in this artwork are painted. It looks as though the leaves have been painted directly onto the bark, but that isn’t the case. The leaves were painted and photographed separately.
The basis of this natural artwork is therefore two different techniques that have been digitally combined.
The end result is an artwork in warm, natural tones, perfectly suited to an interior with calm, natural colours!
