Arches National Park is located in eastern Utah. Several hundred sandstone arches, rock formations, large sandstone walls and rock needles have made the national park famous. The rock formations were formed about 150 million years ago. Through weathering they have developed the unique shapes. Two holes through the middle of the rock, which look like tunnels to the viewer, gave this geological attraction its name.
