About the artwork
Once upon a time, this palm leaf was part of a tree. Then the leaf somehow ended up at a florist's and became part of a bouquet of flowers. This bouquet of flowers has stood in my house. I didn't want to throw away this beautiful leaf after the flowers had finished blooming. It inspired me to turn it into a special work of art. The leaf was dried and painted in natural colours. The various colours of paint have a nice glossy coating. This gives a chic look, the atmosphere of a chic hotel interior, for example. But your living room can also use shiny colours. Gold and silver look great in an interior where people like hotel chic. The colours on this palm leaf contain many different shades, but all are natural tones. Shades that you also find in nature. With these colours, you bring a piece of nature into your home but with a special atmosphere and look. To make all these natural and shiny colours stand out even more, I photographed the palm leaf on a black background. I photographed the palm leaf twice in different positions to create an abstract artwork with a special interplay of lines. A realistic and natural subject transformed into an artistic and abstract work of art!
