It has been freezing and the rivers are freezing over. This produces beautiful abstract shapes on Dutch rivers. So too in the Drentse Aa area. This sculpture, formed in the ice of the Amerdiep, has a kind of tree structure and soft tones. It is freezing 8 degrees and the road is slippery. It has been snowing. Time to look for beautiful structures on the ice. After searching along some tributaries of the Drentse Aa, I end up behind a snow plough, which clears the way to the Amerdiep. There, to my great pleasure, I find several structures, including this branched and flaring form in ice. The work has a light tone with soft tones and will do well in a natural interior, in all seasons. The image structure is kept calm. The lines fan out nicely to the sides and upwards. It fits on both light and dark walls and is a soothing object.
