"Abstraction from nature" is a macro photo of some sort of grassy sprigs, in which I focused on the middle "sprig". By putting the focus on this (and choosing a very small depth of field), everything in front of and behind this sprig gradually fades. If you zoom in on the photo, you can see how this looks!
This very small depth of field creates not only a sense of depth in the work, but also a kind of tranquillity. This is because not everything is in focus and only a small part is in focus. Because the same kind of sprites can be seen in the background, only blurred, you do see the shapes repeated in the background. This repetition of shapes (subject) also creates a calmness in the photo. The colours in addition are also calm, the work consists mainly of pastel shades.
This work could, for example, hang beautifully as wall decoration in the waiting room, bedroom, dining room or of course just above the couch in the living room!
