I observed this acrobatic jump by a Spanish teenager from the city of Cádiz during my photographic city trip on 23 August 2025 in the late afternoon hours.
A group of boys were sunbathing right by the harbour of the beautiful Andalusian city. Some of the youngsters jumped into the harbour basin with an athletic and acrobatic approach and an insanely courageous zest for life. If you look closely, you will immediately notice that the athlete was wearing white trainers. This special feature gives the photo motif a very special, charming appeal.
With great pride and a sense of honour, the young man gave a perfect performance and had great fun doing it.
The harbour of Cádiz is the Puerto de la Bahía de Cádiz. If you look at the "white bridge" from Cadiz, you are looking at the Puente de la Constitución de 1812 (Constitution Bridge), which connects the city with the mainland and is a striking cable-stayed bridge.
Explanation:
The "white bridge" is the 3.2 kilometre-long cable-stayed bridge known as the Puente de la Constitución de 1812.
This bridge is one of the longest of its kind in Europe.
The harbour of Cadiz, the Puerto de la Bahía de Cádiz, is an important Atlantic port and has been in existence since 3000 BC.
