Amethyst Mountains – A Landscape in Purple and Magenta

by Joke Gorter

Lose yourself in the dreamy and mysterious atmosphere of this breathtaking abstract artwork. Created using the refined alcohol ink technique, this piece features layered, smoky veils in deep indigo and intense magenta which together form the flowing contours of a mystical mountain landscape. Above it hovers a delicate, layered sphere in shades of violet, reminiscent of a rising moon or a distant planet on a cosmic horizon. The fluid transitions and transparent textures lend this piece incredible depth and a soothing, poetic character.
An elegant and atmospheric statement piece for any interior
Thanks to its rich shades of purple and pink, this painting instantly brings warmth, luxury and a touch of mystique to the room. As the upper part of the piece creates a sense of calm with plenty of white space, it retains a modern and airy character. It is the ultimate eye-catcher above a chic designer sofa, as a soothing focal point in the bedroom, or as a luxurious centrepiece in a modern entrance hall.
Styling tip:
This artwork looks its best on a sleek white wall, but also looks fantastic on an accent wall in matt anthracite or soft lilac—that’s when the colours really pop. Combine it with gold or brass interior details and rich fabrics such as velvet to create a warm, hotel-chic atmosphere.
