A beautiful photo of a colourful common kingfisher that has just made a successful dive.
A common kingfisher dives from a branch into the water and is back on its branch within about 1.5 to 2 seconds. With or without a caught fish.
This male kingfisher (dark bill | the female has an orange underside to the bill) just comes out of the water with a fish. The splashing water droplets and open wings make this picture beautifully dynamic.
In a project-based approach, it was determined beforehand what kind of action photo was desirable. The behaviour of the kingfisher, as well as the spot where he was likely to dive, determined the desired result. Of course, weather and wind also play a role.
From a shelter tent, photography was done from a tripod. The result is a beautiful photo that will look great on the wall. Think especially of Dibond and acrylic sheet.
