You might not say it, but this really is the Wadden Sea. This shot was taken on Texel, in the winter of 2012. It was extremely cold for a while then, even up to 20 degrees below zero. As a result, the Wadden Sea had also partly frozen over. I was lucky enough to be on the island then, as it was beautiful through all the snow and ice. The photo shows you looking towards the mainland, while in the background you can see a passing snow shower.

Hallo! Mijn naam is Robert Wierenga. Leuk dat je mijn werk bekijkt. Naast mijn werk als Spoedeisende Hulp arts ben ik actief als landschapsfotograaf. Het vastleggen van onze mooie wereld biedt me een mooi tegenwicht voor de hectiek binnen de ziekenhuismuren. Aangezien ik in Groningen woon, maak ik de meeste van mijn foto's in de 3 noordelijke provincies. Ik trek er graag op uit tijdens de momenten met het mooiste licht, vaak rond zonsopkomst of zonsondergang. Mijn werk kenmerkt zich door eenvoudige, sterke composities en vaak een intensief gebruik van kleur en contrast.
