It’s always the light that draws me in. In this case, it wasn’t just the architecture — though the grand columns and ornate ceiling of the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Rome are undeniably impressive — it was the way sunlight cut across the floor in sharp, deliberate lines. The contrast between shadow and light turned the entire corridor into something sculptural. Two people crossed paths at just the right moment, their silhouettes perfectly framed by columns and brightness, adding a sense of movement to a space that feels frozen in time. I composed the shot with a deep perspective to emphasize that sense of rhythm and repetition, letting the architecture lead the eye into the distance. The black-and-white choice strips it all down to what really matters here: structure, shadow, and mood. It’s quiet, but not empty — full of presence, if you’re paying attention.
