A watercolour inspired by two photos I put these two examples together and tried to recreate this with watercolour. The layering you get with photographs put together is very difficult to achieve with painting. The subject of the painting is also a bit like how the old masters painted. I have time to draw and paint more after years of volunteer work for the St. Care Foundation The Gambia. Inspiration I got in the Gambia where I also lived. The colors, the population and life is a great source of inspiration. But also the quieter life now is inspiring to use softer colours and to work more with pastel chalk. But still it's nice to work in all kinds of colours and to try out new techniques and new materials.
