The autumnal motif was taken on 18 October 2025 in the late afternoon hours with the NIKON D800 (lens: NIKKOR 24.0-70.0 mmf/2.8).
I discovered this enchanting, poetic angel figure during my autumn photo walk in the East Berlin district of Pankow. The bright colouring of the leaves in shades of red, orange and yellow lends the natural motif a warm and harmonious atmosphere. The graceful, slightly lowered face of the angel sculpture radiates calm and serenity.
The conversion of the colour values into classic black and white lends the angel motif a timeless, elegant and particularly charming atmosphere.
In religious studies, an angel is an intermediate being between God and man. The monotheistic Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam recognise angels as spiritual beings in (winged) human form that were created by God and are subordinate to him. They are regarded as God's messengers to mankind.
In Greek mythology, the daimones appear as personal guardian spirits and mediators between gods and humans. According to Hesiod, they emerged from the souls of the people of the Golden Age. The Greek daimon corresponds to the Roman genius, who can also be depicted as a winged being. But the gods themselves also intervene in the lives of humans or send the messenger of the gods Hermes-Mercurius, who wears winged shoes and a hat as attributes.
The idea of Nike, the goddess of victory with bird wings, entered Olympus with the confrontation between Greece and oriental, especially Persian, culture.
She also entered Roman culture as Victoria and was later stylised as an angel of victory with a victory wreath and palm branch.
