The barn swallow (Hirundo rustica) is a bird belonging to the family swallows (Hirundinidae). It is the most widespread species of this family; its distribution area covers virtually the whole world, with seven subspecies being distinguished. The barn swallow is a striking appearance due to its blue-black plumage with long outer tail feathers and its great manoeuvrability in flight when hunting flying insects.
The shore swallow[2] (Riparia riparia) is a songbird of the swallow family (Hirundinidae). It is one of the most widespread swallow species and can be found in wetlands, where it feeds on small insects and breeds in self-dug tunnels in riverbanks.
