"Being together: Fragile and vulnerable in warm autumn colours" is a still life of two lanterns of a Lampion plant lying side by side in pairs.
As these orange lanterns lie on a reflective surface that is textured, an abstract painterly reflection is created in the ground plane.
This creates a beautiful effect. If you zoom in, you can clearly see how beautifully detailed the photo is and also how abstract the reflection is.
The lanterns have been off the plant for a while and you can see that they have dried quite well. The grain structure comes to the fore, giving beautiful details in the lanterns' skin. Because the two of them are sitting next to each other, I feel they are like two lovers with their shoulders against each other, both staring ahead.
When photographing, I was inspired by the colours of autumn. The colour pallet in this picture gives a warm autumnal atmosphere to the whole. Of course, the orange lanterns help the subject even more. (You see these quite often in autumn in the Netherlands).
This photo could, for example, hang beautifully in the bedroom, kitchen or waiting room!
