About ‘Between nothing and nowhere’ by Filip D´hooghe

A single tree between earth and endless sky

A vast, almost empty landscape is defined by a single, defining element: a tree, standing alone on the undulating horizon. The tree stands firm and unperturbed in the centre of the frame, whilst the vast blue sky seems almost to swallow it up. The division between earth and sky creates a powerful sense of simplicity and gives the photograph an almost graphic quality. The parched, freshly mown field in warm earth tones contrasts beautifully with the cool blue of the sky. The delicate wisps of cloud add hardly any sense of movement, leaving a sense of tranquillity and space. There are no buildings, no roads, no people. Just the tree.

It is precisely this simplicity that makes the image so powerful. The tree becomes more than just a part of the landscape: it becomes a symbol of steadfastness, solitude and freedom. A small living sign in an overwhelmingly vast world.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
