About ‘Black Sun’ by Zwali art

'Black Sun' is Zwali's eighth black-and-white work here on 'Work on the Wall'.

The work was made with India ink on A3 paper and then digitally manipulated in procreate. The work was made on the last day of 2024, also symbolising the rounding of a year.

Besides the central black-filled circle in the centre, eight other circles circle around it, giving this drawing a strong dynamic. The black-and-white tessellation reinforces this image.

Besides rounding a year, each person has a process to round in self-development and personal growth. This is a process that goes beyond dual thinking in white or black, cause-effect, right or wrong. It is internalising your own self, from past, present and possible future. That can look fragmented, as the many boxes in this drawing also show. At the same time, there is the core that is always whole. And which is always there.

The sun is the source of life for everything that lives. As such, this 'Black Sun' is also a tribute to life itself: learning to 'be in one piece together'.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
