In this photograph, a bright blue ice floe floats serenely in the mirror-smooth water of glacial lake Fjallsárlon, Iceland. The ice, formed by ancient glacier layers, catches the light and reveals an almost otherworldly colour. The reflection in the still water doubles its beauty, while in the distance, shrouded in soft mist, the glacier and the dark contours of a mountain rise like silent sentinels.
My inspiration for this work came during a trip to Iceland, where the power of nature and its fragile balance touched me deeply. Meeting this lonely ice floe felt like a moment of pure stillness, a reminder of how precious and fragile our planet is.
