Mill of Piet, Alkmaar. De Groot or Piet's Mill is a round stone post-mill in the Dutch city of Alkmaar. The mill was built as a mill on the Clarissenbolwerk near the former Kennemerpoort and still dominates the townscape there.
In 1884 the mill was bought by Cornelis Piet, who had a house built underneath it. The family name of this mill remained in popular speech and the old name De Groot is still hardly used.
