Botanical Artistry

by Christian Ovís

‘Botanical Artistry’ features blue and purple flowers on slender, dark stems. At the top, a large blue flower with broad, rounded petals opens up. To the left of this, just below, is a purple flower with an almost black centre; a smaller blue flower fills the bottom right-hand corner. White dots in the centres of the flowers provide bright details. A few yellow leaves and small blue buds break up the predominantly cool colour palette.

The flowers form a loose vertical cluster against a light, warm-grey background. Their soft areas of colour range from light blue and lilac to deep cobalt blue and dark purple. Delicate lines, small splashes and half-visible twigs weave their way between the large floral forms. At the bottom, the stems cluster closely together, whilst the top remains open. The contrast between broad petals and thin lines gives the composition a calm yet lively structure.

This blue floral wall decoration suits a bedroom, living room or study with an understated décor. Blue and purple complement grey fabrics, light wood and off-white. The small yellow accents can tie a warm detail in the décor into the overall look. Against a plain wall, the soft petal edges and dark centres remain clearly visible, both on their own and alongside other botanical pieces.
