Caravan of Glass by AWE by Haris Delic

Caravan of Glass is an imagined sculptural object in which transparent glass, color, textile and ornament travel around one another in continuous movement. Curved forms in cobalt blue, turquoise, emerald, orange, red and violet surround glass spheres filled with millefiori-inspired floral patterns. Through this luminous structure winds a richly patterned textile reminiscent of traditional kilim weaving.
I was interested in bringing together materials and visual traditions that normally belong to different worlds. Glass is smooth, reflective and translucent, while woven textile is tactile, warm and patterned. By combining them into one impossible object, I wanted neither material to dominate. Instead, they become parts of a new visual language.
The artwork was developed using digital and generative techniques, with particular attention to transparency, reflections, surface detail, textile texture, color and the relationship between individual forms. The pure white background removes any conventional environment and allows the object to exist almost like an artifact from an unknown culture or another world.
For me, the work connects craft memory with contemporary imagination. Its character changes with distance: from afar it is a vivid abstract sculpture, while closer viewing reveals flowers within glass, woven motifs, reflections and smaller ornamental elements. In an interior, it can introduce intense color without losing the clarity of a clean composition.
