The ship empty and with haste she heads for the harbor to heal the cargo. Just outside the piers at sea I was able to take this photo. The red flag above the bridge. The foaming bow wave the orange ship immediately catches the eye.
Often the ships are photographed in port. Moored and lying quietly on the quay. But I also like to photograph the ships when they are still underway. The pilot on board, the bow in the waves. A ship should sail from port to port.
The cargo ships as small as a coaster or as big as a bulk carrier and in all colors. It is a hive of activity not only in the harbor. But also on the North Sea.
Raw and the port as it is, the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is a different world. The landscape of the harbor is always changing. The ships, the people and the landscape continue to fascinate me.
