In the old town of Kotor, where the narrow streets wind between weathered stone walls, I found myself sitting on a bench in a small park. There, several cats sat together, waiting for a sign of generosity from passers-by. Among all these animals, one stood out: a young, slender cat with a lively look in her eyes. Just as I pointed my camera, she turned her head and looked straight into the lens. It was as if she wanted to pose for a moment, as if she knew this was her chance to be captured.
What makes the image special is the subtle harmony of colours. The cat's grey-striped fur blends seamlessly with the weathered green paint of the bench. At the same time, the green background of the park, with warm orange accents of flowers here and there, forms a picturesque backdrop. This natural shading of colours gives the photo tranquillity, while the cat's bright eyes and sharp outline provide tension and focus.
The cat's posture, elegantly balancing on the backrest, enhances the sense of alertness. The animal seems ready to leap at any moment, yet remains momentarily stilled in this single moment. For me, this image is more than a chance encounter; it captures the essence of Kotor itself: a city where history, beauty and unexpected details come together. Sometimes happiness is nothing more than a glance, caught at exactly the right moment.
