This monotype or monoprint is made with a geliplate and acrylic paint. A unique handmade and one-off piece, only 1 print can be made of your design. The graphic printing technique and the paper used create all kinds of textures and effects. In this work I have printed rugs, circles and wire in the paint. Printing over each other several times creates this unique work. Because white is cut out, the work maintains its freshness. The background is warm orange-red with a hint of pale green. A black cat sits on the roof in the light of the moon. His fluorescent green eyes contrast sharply with the black of his fur. You see more of a silhouette den the details of the cat. The many textures in the background make it interesting. You wonder what is going on in the cat's nocturnal life. Anyway, cats are mysterious creatures, so who knows may say.
