The Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis) is a small white heron species.
The Cattle Egret is 45 to 52 cm long. It is a rather small, compact, active white heron with a short, often retracted neck. Outside the breeding season the bird is uniformly white, with a yellow beak and yellow-grey legs. In incubation the beak turns a little more orange-yellow, the legs are lighter and there are orange feathers on the crown, chest and mantle.
