In Wicklow Mountains near Glendalough lies the ruins of an abbey. It is a tourist attraction, which is heavily visited. The park offers fine hiking and the immediate surroundings also offer many opportunities for this, which are very heavily used. Near the abbey is also an ancient cemetery, which to our surprise is still in use today. The site apparently still harbours many secrets, as students from a school of archaeology are still doing research there.
Although the weather is not very warm, we see some children playing in the river. Their play is cheerful and uninhibited. Clearly seen, the biggest child takes the "lead". The scene really appeals to me and is the reason for taking a photo of it.
I believe the picture is a beautiful scene that tells a story (or several stories). It stimulates my imagination and hopefully others' too.
