In my search for photography that differs from straightforward photography, I took this picture. In the forest, you can use camera movement or merged images to capture very alienating situations. The abstraction of what is shown then becomes more important than recognition. I find this a fun game with the viewer, while it is also reason for some to disapprove. "I don't see what it is," is then a phrase often heard. For me, recognition plays no role in these situations. The image has to determine its own value and this can be done in different ways. Sometimes colour becomes the expressive factor, at other times shapes are decisive. All in all, an inspiring occupation. In any case, I hope I can let people enjoy it.
